Concentration 2

this is the second piece in my concentration, it has yet to be given a permanate title. in this piece i wanted to demonstrate touch. Did i succeed? not quite. i do like the composition but in its entirety but there certain things that i would have liked to have changed. for example i would liked to have made the object the hand is touching more readable, more
identifiable. in addition to that i would have wanted to create balance by adding more flow lines on both sides of the hand and arm. aside from those thing i like the color harmony, and the area of intensity in the upper portion of the composition. i did a good job.

Its Finished... i really like this piece the movement, the vibrant colors and the attention to value... i used on of Judy's technique's with rubber cement glue to create layers of color. i believe this is one of my best pieces so far

Foot and Hand

This piece is in the introductory stage.... but i have to say its looking pretty good. i plan to extend the project to include sound as color. this piece will be my first independent piece of my concentration. my concentration revolves around the concept of seeing sound as color and vise versa. i believe every sound as a different motion and color from a baby crying, to a someone typing on a computer every sound as its own unique characteristic.

(PICTURE PENDING)

this was my first independent piece. I am my own worst critic so it is no surprise when to me when i say that i don't really like this piece. I like the typography feel and and how i used the overlapping of letter to make contrast and differentiate between the nose, cheek, and hair. However i believe i could have done alot more in this piece, and primarily i want to go the achromatic route but then i decide to add color, obviously, but all in all i think i did the best i could.

Figure Drawing

in this piece we had draw someone at different time increments. the 1st consisted of geometric shapes and line then we proceeded to add organic shapes (showing joints and form). finally we added facial features and shading ext. the thing i like most about this piece is the emotion in the girls face, however i would have liked to keep the composition consistent with hand positioning

MOVEMENT

i titled this piece movement because of the obvious movement the piece contains. my inspiration for this piece was my hand (duh) but more than that it was how the hand is so commonly used if fore shorting. my favorite part of "Movement" is the monochromatic color scheme i chose. i don't know what it is about monochromatic that i like it may be the bold statement it can make or just the simple yet complex idea of it. that on color, on single color can say more than a rainbow. on the other hand my craftsmanship is always an ordeal in my compositions. when ever i start a project i tend no to think about what it may become, i only think about what it is at that moment. so initially i pay absolutely no attention to thing such as craftsmanship, or straight lines, i just create.

i know this piece is BOLD but i have to say i like it. in this piece i wanted to show a women who has curves and hips ext ext and who is proud of them. in today's world the media emphasises so much on women who weigh 87 lbs and look like skeletons, and that's what we're led to believe is the definition of beauty. however what i would like to have done differently in this was watch my craftsmanship, a thing i continuously struggle on.

primarily in this project i found most things about it quite unsettling. but as time progressed i learned to love it. my initial sketch made me skeptical about including the bulls skull. but sense it was to be abstract it really did not matter. the things i like about his project is the way i Incorporated different types of paper: cardboard, book paper ext. in addition to tat i am really starting to like the bold colors and the natural texture. however things that i would like to have done differently was add n more texture and more contrast between meidas

this is my favorite peice so far, the encuastic peice. i belive that i wen far and beyond with this peice in adding the two extra frams to give it that 3-d effect. the material i used in this peices consisted of glass, watercolor paper, 2 wooden frams, and wax. i have not yeat named this peice becuase frankly i dont know wat it is. "Experiment gone Good"

Paper Cut

this is way long over due. this is my papercutting project. i like this peice because of it display of pattern and emotion. on thing that did differently than everyone eles is that i encorperated two facial compsitions. the effect that i tried to bring across was how the boy looks and how he actually feels. i named this peice tear of a tiger.

Basic Still Life

in my basic still life drawing i would have to say it was a semi failure. i say that because half of it looking good but one piece in particular i did not care for. i could not make the bull skull look real what i should of done was chosen something easy like everyone else. i believe if that freaking skull was out of the picture i would of been a success.
